For what its worth, my
advice is for you to first go look at the
boat yourself and find out what facilities are available for haulout etc for the boat you are interested in. (Wide beam cats may be an issue),
Then having decided that the boat is worth the cost of a professional look over, find a
surveyor in your home country that you know and TRUST, fly him over and pay whatever extra it costs for the exercise. In the long run, it will be
money well spent.
To put it mildly, standards and business ethics anywhere south of the
Mediterranean can be ahem.."flexible" at best.
