UV will eat it up if you don't cover the board. You can forestall the effects of UV with something like 303 spray every few weeks.

I'm not familiar with 303 spray, and you bring up another question I was pondering. We've got two Naish boards, which are a bright yellow color except for the graphics and a textured rubber foot
bed on the top. While patching some dings in the
fiberglass, I discovered that the yellow they use is identical to the yellow spray
paint I can buy at the local
hardware store.
I'm wondering if a coat of spray
paint on the boards would suffice for UV protection.
