Nice. I like that cockpit layout a lot! And I can sorta see the effect. Really need to see this in person. Sounds like a great idea.

Re: St. Francis 50: "Wayfinder"

This owner that participated in the building of that vessel (right in Thailand there) had a few more unusual and good ideas. I'll see if I can find some more photos, etc.

Suliere has a teak effect that I'm sure would have the same effect (Suliere's Blog | Join us sailing the world in our 50ft sailing catamaran) .. black would look more modern though (IMO)

Wayfinder Build: Part 9 — Update - The Wayfinder - Hugh C. Howey

I've been on the road for a few weeks. These pics are from about two weeks ago, I believe. In another two weeks, I'll be back at the yard and will be able to report in more detail, including taking some video. We're probably 4-6 weeks from launching right now. All the plumbing and wiring is being done, and then they start dropping systems in.

Re: St. Francis 50: "Wayfinder"

Hi Hugh

It's looking quite busy there now. I like the look of the floor. I somehow didn't have that picture in my head when you described it but it looks good, and practical. The board lockers are brilliant too.

I look forward to seeing it in CT in October, if that's still the plan. But please keep the pics coming.

Nic

Hugh, I have read this entire thread and I am very impressed. You have given out a ton of useful information for anyone thinking of building, wether it be a SF or any other brand. I am looking at a Saba. I look forward to hearing more on what you decide for all your electrical decisions i.e. 12V, 24V, navigation items, gauges, panels and electricity controllers, Wifi, mast lighting, solar panel numbers, genset, inverters, etc). Love the paddle board storage and all the nooks and power supplies. Look forward to continued viewing, Rob

Re: St. Francis 50: "Wayfinder"

Back in South Africa, and man does it feel like I'm home. I love it here. Saw a lot of good friends last night, and of course went and walked through the boat.

Here she is, about 3 to 4 weeks from launch:

I'll update more as we move along, with some photos and plans and more decision-making and thought processes. Can't believe I'm this close to living aboard again. It's been six or seven years since I've lived on a boat. Can't freaking wait.

She's looking awesome Hugh. I can imagine you must be super excited. I look forward to seeing it 'in the flesh' in CT.

Re: St. Francis 50: "Wayfinder"

Outstanding!

Perhaps I missed it or they've made a change but do you still have the rounded seat backs in the cockpit?

I'm also looking forward to seeing how the paddle board storage shakes out.

Love the master shower and the TV also.
