pirate Splish ! Splash ! Our Boat is Now Afloat !!

Hello everyone! I'm happy to announce the 'birth' of s/v Field Trip - our Antares 44i. She splashed on Monday, and we are amidst many preparations during commissioning.

A link below to some pics and video of the boat hitting the water!

s/v Field Trip: Skinny Dipping

We are soon off to Brazil and then the Caribbean! Will hopefully bump into some of you on the water!

Saw the video. That's a heck of a trip to the water!

Keep us posted here on the forum with links back to your web site. Great looking cat, and the kids seem raring to go. Two more students for Calvert, I guess.

Yep. Two more kiddos on the Calvert system. Thankfully Sarah (my wife) is a teacher. Helps a LOT.

Cool! Congratulations! Those boats are one of my all-time favorites, just too expensive for us.

Mark.

I've been on your site all morning, getting a good education. IMHO, the best cruiser's web site I've ever visited. For a man that crunched numbers for a living, you sure communicate in the technical "nuts & bolts" language that this old Merchant Mariner can understand. I recommend everyone check out his site, it is that good!

Congratulations! Love the video...looks like that might have been the hardest part of the journey!
We have great friends circumnavigating in an Antares 44...love that boat (that's what we want our Gemini to be when it grows up!). Happy sailing!

nice blog! What are you planning to use for your internet connection offshore? I read about the Facebook connection, but also noticed the two domed antenna housings. Are those stabilized sat dishes?
