Re: Snowbound in CO-Need Encouragement

Still working on budget, but it looks like we will need Around $200K for a cat in good shape ready to cruise. Have fixed up MANY mobile homes over the years (our current cuddy cabin is named "Trailer Trash!), and would love to fix up a boat, but we don't have the know-how yet, but would consider a semi fixer-upper. We want to start in Florida/gulf coast to get our sea legs. If all goes well, next winter we'll be out of the snow. Sailor Hutch.....cracked me up, been snow skiing my whole life and never saw that!! Hahahaha

Prout has a good reputation but the brand new 50 foot Prout just delivered to South Australia arrived with a host of problems. All covered by warranty but the boat will be on the hard for repairs for quite a while so there goes this years sailing season here.

jtrapper, I am just north of you in Cheyenne and share your sentiments. My wife is down in Puerto Rico spending Christmas with her 103 year old Dad and reveling in the warmth. January can't come soon enough as we will spend it on our group Beneteau 41 in the BVI's. Snow and cold is for youngsters! gts1544

Re: Snowbound in CO-Need Encouragement

I miss Colorado. However, I found sailing in December and January much easier on the Chesapeake easier than Dillon Reservoir.
