Small daysailer cat Nawiatr

Love to information and opinions about a NAWIATR 700K, a Polish built and designed 7mtr trailerable catamaran?

Or know of comparable type cats?

I have done some ASA courses (101,103,104 and 114) and intend to do daysailing/ weekends camping in South East Queensland with a family with 2 eleven year old kids. What has piqued my interest in this cat is; Price, shallow draft, fast. The negatives I can see is; limited space, sleeping arrangement and that with a bit of camping gear the boat may be overloaded quickly.

Met a couple with a Seawind 24 cruising in the Keys. Kinda similar boat. All boats that size will have the same limitations.

Similar design but completely different building method. Nawiatr 700K is build in vacuum (sandwich DIAB core material) technology out of epoxy resin and glass or carbon reinforcement. Seawind 24 is rather old design. Monolitic poliester and chopped mat. It affects boat weight consequently speed.
Nawiatr 700K could reach 20 knots outperforms significantly Seawind24.

650-700Kg empty is not that light but it is difficult to trim weight from such a small platform.

The original Richards Woods Strider, 1980's vintage is 7.3m and has an empty displacement (weight) of 500kg the sportier Gwarhir at 7.65m has empty displacement of 400Kg. Both are capable of hitting 20 knots.

For a real speedster there is always a Firebird

All of these boats are really campers, there will be no room for the kids iPads.

In this size range a folding trimaran, Quorning or Corsair, offers slightly better accommodation.

Re: Small daysailer cat Nawiatr

I took part in few reggatas in Europe this year and never met any Firebird, so I couldn't check whether she is as fast as you think :-)
However I fought with some Dragonflies , Corsairs in Germany and UK, with very good results.
600kg for ready to sail 7m catamaran equiped with 4 beds, porta-potti , sink etc is in my opinion, very good result.

You can see how ligth Nawiatr 700K is on the movie:
