Re: Should we worry about cockpit floor level walkthroughs from the sterns in big sea

I have spoken to a cat owner who, while at anchor, was in the habit of coming up to the cockpit to pee off the transom steps first thing in the morning. One morning in the Kimberlies he was greeted by a big croc in the cockpit. So yeah, it can happen. Gotta love those washboards inserted at the top of the steps, if the design allows.

Shows the importance of closing the salon doors overnight! I also pee off the transom steps, sometimes in the middle of the night if my bladder wakes me.

Regarding closing off the rear steps, how high is high enough? We have a 30cm step over to get to our deck from the sterns - that doesn’t seem very hard for a croc or a seal to scale.

Tinnie desired if going to spend more time cruising up there.
