Awesome day. Easy lift and drop, easy motor to a mooring about 5 miles away - where we'll be until all of the registration paperwork comes from Oz.

Just had a cold beer on the foredeck and watched a magnificent sunset over Baja... about to spend the first night aboard.

Thanks to all for the help over the last 9 months!

PS: a tiny leak coming from the old depth transducer through-hull... but will have to tackle that post in the morning (it's really slow).

OK... no pics today

That small leak turned into a very large pain in the arse.

From what I can tell, the yard put the lifting straps right over the thru-hull transducer housing. I was on the boat when it was lifted to make sure the straps were balanced correctly and to keep and eye on my rigging and such - so I couldn't see down under. t cracked the seal - and possibly the housing (old installation with wood blocks to keep the transducer parallel with the sea bed).

By mid day it was filling my shower sump every 30 minutes. I had to get her back out of the water

I thought I'd try my hand at a beaching (one of the reasons I bought a cat in the first place) but the tide is low this time of month and tomorrow doesn't have a second low tide here (it's low tonight at 9:00pm - in the dark) so I can't do much work on her for a couple of days.

Bummer way to spend my first day in the water.

If I can't fix it on the beach I'll have to haul out again.

I serviced every sea-cock and thru-hull... that bastard strap. I'll be watching from the ground next time.
