Seeking Advice on Sale of My Gemini
Due to health concerns I have to sell my Gemini 3200. It is in the Keys. I am hoping for some advice. I am considering Craigs List, catamaransite.com and Boattraderonline. It isn't listed yet. Any thoughts???

You might want to take a look at www.2Hulls.com.

Re: Seeking advice on sale of my Gemini.
In addition to any free listings I would highly recomend creating your own Website, include full details / specs and plenty of photos and maybe even some youtube. All the answers to questions that a buyer likely to ask / will need to know.
I wouldn't rely on folk Googling past (but it happens) it's more about having somewhere to refer folk to if the free listing only gives you a few lines to play with........and saves you having to repeat the same info in endless e-mails (and when someone does ask a new (and good!) question - add it to your web site.......with the answer ).
Putting a 4 Sale board on her does no harm either.
Might also want to do some googling on Catamarans in general and your model in particular as if you were a buyer and see what comes up highly ranked on Google. Might be worth paying to get listed somewhere that has similar vessels for sale, on the basis that the punters are likely to end up there.

They are very popular you should not have a problem. I wouldn't post on craigslist. Go to sailboatlistings.com

Re: Seeking Advice on Sale of My Gemini
We bought our 02 Gemini last fall out of San Diego and we would not probably bought it without our yacht broker. We had never had a catamaran and the broker had owned a Gemini 105Mc in the past and was very informative and we had no problems. Our broker traveled from Washington state to San Diago to help with the purchase and the survey, he really worked for his money. Mathew Dunning is a broker for the Multihull Company and only deals with multihulls and really knows his cat's. I'm sure there are good catamaran brokers in your area.

Re: Seeking Advice on Sale of My Gemini
The advice of creating your own website is a good one. And be sure to take some GOOD pictures, that show off the boat in a positive way. Not like this one:
Yes, that is a REAL picture from a REAL listing that is currently on Yachtworld. Could you possibly make your boat look any LESS appealing?
Don't make this mistake!

Re: Seeking Advice on Sale of My Gemini
Must be a divorce going on and whoever is living on the boat really doesn't want to sell. I've seen this before

Re: Seeking Advice on Sale of My Gemini
Some health problems could make it difficult to be personally involved in the sale of your boat. At the same time the cash could come in real handy.
A broker could be worth their commission here. Some members may have recommendations.
Not to say you shouldn't research the market. The above links would be a good start.

Re: Seeking Advice on Sale of My Gemini
I am recovering from rotator cuff repair surgery. My surgeon told me my injury was so severe that sailing was out. I think I can manage the sale of the boat but if I find it is a problem I will look into a broker. Thanks for the input.

Sorry to hear that. But.... I had a shoulder recon, and was told a similar thing to what you were - no heavy work ever again no overhead work ever again... couple of years later I was building scaffolding.

Re: Seeking Advice on Sale of My Gemini
I know I'm butting in, but find a different doctor. Seriously, you need to get more than one opinion on that, after doing your own extensive research on what is the latest, greatest, etc. Find someone who is into sports medicine for a major league team. Strangely I have found the world's expert doctors are often no more expensive than the local hack. List your boat here on Cruisers Forum with a link to a website with full photos and details, and I bet she'll go quickly.
