Replacing Bow Pulpit Seat

We need to replace the pulpit seats on our Lagoon 450. The stainless steal supports are fine, but the top is a plywood that is splintering, and just looks bad. Asthetically, I would love teak or Cyprus up there.. but, it would be great to have minimal maintenance. I would really like to buy a composite wood, but all I can find is composite decking... I think I'd rather have a full board up there, rather than the decking, but I am open to any options, however, I know I don't want white starboard, just because I'd like it to look like it was an "upgrade".

I would love to hear from people who have replaced their seats, and what they have done. I'd also like to gather some resources for the materials.

Re: Replacing Bow Pulpit Seat

For ease of maintenance Starboard has worked great for us. In terms of upgrade, look to custom design the grating and have that routed into the starboard: i.e. boat name or logo, favorite marine animal... ?
