Renovations

Can someone recommend a good craftsman / company that can gut a boat and re-do the interior with quality work?

Re: Renovations

This isn't too far from you, but I've seen the work done by Bennett Brothers Yachts in Wilmington, NC. I was quite favorably impressed. I saw the end product of a total interior refit done on an Irwin 52 and it was beautiful, both in the joinery and the systems. Not cheap, though.

I imagine there are plenty of people in the Ft. Lauderdale area, but I'd be very careful and check lots of references, first. Tellie, one of the forum members, is a Spectra rep in Ft. Lauderdale and all-around straight-shooter. You might want to ask him who he might know in the area.

Go to 1930 Schooner MISTRESS - Home - I've seen Skip Joest work and there are few craftsmen as good as he is and as fast as he is. He is located in NE Florida on the St. Johns river.

Re: Renovations

I can highly recommend Ariel Tord (Miami) for boat carpentry & upholstery work.
He’s a true craftsman of the highest caliber - skilled, reliable, & reasonably priced.
Last I knew (2001), his phone number was: (305) 888-2879,
and his beeper was (305) 997-4419
