Real displacement of L570, Catana 582, Priv 585 any info??
I have looked up listed displacements form multihulldynamics' list as the following:
Lagoon 57 Disp 12.8 T
Lagoon 570 Disp 14 T
Catana 582 Disp. 15T
Privilige 585 Disp. 19 T
Privilige 585EC Disp. 17.2 T
Are these numbers close to accurate or just brochure dreams? I though I read some where that the Catana 581/2 started close to 15T but got much heavier with options to the point where an owner sued and Catana stopped listing Disp.
Any real world info?

Re: Real displacement of L570, Catana 582, Priv 585 any info??
I can only talk on Catana and guess about the rest
Catana for almost all of his models has had different displacements over period of time. For 50, 582 and even the recent 47 C, the earliest hull numbers are significantly heavier than recent ones. For 582 it's even more complicated because they also manufactured a model called Calygo which has the mast, beam compress and bow sprit, hard top bimini in carbon. Some others have just the mast in carbon, etc..
We have a 582 in our yard that we haul and launch every yearsince she was purchased. She has a carbon mast , no A/C or genset and she's about 21-22 tons. To me, even the Calygo 582 would be at least 18-19 tons light.
For the rest , I would add a 25-30% on L 57 and maybe some 15-20% on Privilege.
All numbers I am giving are light displacements, w/out AC,genset, dinghy, O/B, etc.. water and fuel half full..
Cheers

Re: Real displacement of L570, Catana 582, Priv 585 any info??
I was looking at different listing and saw a 2010 Catana 58 with carbon everything. They list light ship at 21,500kg +- 5% Also loaded with 800L of water and 600L of fuel at 23,500kg +-5%. These number are close to yours Yeloya. I would guess that an owner willing to pay for carbon everything would also pay to have the boat weighed. The thing I am skeptical about is the travel lift scales. Every boat I have had always read heavy on the travel lift.

I know Catana 58 quite well; as I said one from 2002 has been in our marina since she was bought. I also occasionally sailde with her, she sails like a dream. As a matter of fact I wanted to buy one. I went twice in France for seeing two different 582, but for variety of reasons I couldn't or I didn't buy.
By "carbon everything" I guess you mean Calygo design. If so, go ahead, 500 kg more or less doesn't change the picture, she has a plenty of sail area and very strong rigging.
Cheers

Don't get me wrong the 582 is a great boat if they were in my price range I would love one. I am just trying to get an idea of the displacement of cats around 58'. I am looking at a boat that is listed at aprox. 23T , but another owner thought 18T.
Here is the one I was referring to 2010 Catana 58 Sail Boat For Sale - www.yachtworld.com

I know this one, she's in Marmaris. She's an exceptional 582 but the price is out of mind. I had found pretty good ones at less than 500.000 €.
If you are so keen on weights, the equation is simple: Catana is the lightest, L 57 close to it, Privilege heaviest with some margin.

If it is the old Lagoon 57, I think it would be the lightest of the bunch.

The web side gives 14 tons for L 570. For 57&55 there is a weird numbers. Honestly I don't have much idea about these boats but she could really be the lightest of the bunch, as Neko suggested.
Nevertheless, I tend to believe that Catana would still be fastest.

It's certainly a nicer looking boat than the current stock but monos are similar, some of the prettiest are older designs. Even Mother Nature prefers slim over heavy.

Is the Lagoon 570 really that light? If so how?
Not foam construction or anything special that I am aware of.
