Quorning Boats Unveils new Dragonfly 36

Here’s a link - http://dragonfly.dk/new-dragonfly-36

She’s a beauty and could be an ultimate coastal cruiser especially for a couple who love comfort and performance. Will be pricey, I’m betting over $650k nicely kitted.

I’m glad some people have 2/3 of a million dollars to spend on a small boat….

I hear you but as a Dragonfly owner and compared to other builders, you might draw a conclusion that you get what you pay for in terms of engineering, finish, quality, and resale. I’m hoping we might be able to step up to a 3-4 year old DF36 after I retire in 2028. We love our DF32.

My wife is currently wrapping up a passage from Sweden to England with 59-North on their Farr 65 Falken. She commented to me on her first day on the boat that it did not seem that big compared to her perspective from sailing our DF32. They are currently sailing down the English Channel towards the Channel Islands. Last week, I got a text from her as they beat upwind from the coast of Sweden in 20 knots of wind with reefed mainsail and staysail that I don’t have to worry about her ever wanting a cruising monohull as a steady 20 degrees of heel in 2m seas was getting old. Last week I took a friend out on our boat and he had owned two Beneteau 32’s and he got the feeling visually and physically that he was on a 40’ boat. The beam of a tri can give you that sense of a much bigger boat.

We’ve done a couple of Gulf crossings now on our DF32 in some rough seas and moderately windy conditions (25-30 knots) and properly reefed, she’s felt like a much bigger boat in the way she handled the conditions.
