Puget Sound Multihull (Zoom) Meeting Tues, April 7 630 pm USE Pacific Time

Hello NWMA members and fellow multihull enthusiasts –

This month we will do a Zoom meeting April 7 at 630 pm Pacific Daylight Time (USA) 630 is the virtual potluck and around 7 we will turn it over to our presenters below.

Agenda:

- Update/slideshow from Joel and Patty on progress on their beautiful Marples 35 trimaran build in Napa, CA. It is nearly ready to splash.

- Update/slideshow from Mark and Elke on their "endless summer" in La Ventana, MX. Mark is learning to foil his kite board but does some distance sailing on his Toronado. They also spent a weekend with members Matt and Tricia on their Outremer 42 Catamaran out of La Paz.

- Last but not least we will hear from Joe and Sue Dazey about Voyaging on their 48' Chris White catamaran from Chesapeake Bay to Alaska.

Here are the Zoom Details. If you want to join, Bill is hosting the meeting. He'll will give you the Meeting ID, just email him: wjquigs@gmail.com.

Here is a description of what to do with Zoom. If I can do it you can.....

After ensuring your system and Zoom are working correctly, use the ‘Join Now’ in the below attachment at 6:30 for the Virtual Potluck with program starting at 7.

You can download Zoom here:

https://zoom.us/download

Zoom works on just about any device but it will work best on a laptop or desktop because the screen size allows you to see more participants. You don't need a camera but it's nice to have so other members can see you. You will need a microphone, but almost every laptop has a microphone built-in. Headsets also work well.

From the download site install the ‘Zoom Client for Meetings’ for your computer. There are also ‘Zoom Mobile Apps’.

One Minute Video instructions: https://youtu.be/-s76QHshQnY

Zoom also has a "test meeting" running continuously so you can see if it's working: http://zoom.us/test

(I’ve participated in Zoom meetings and have discovered that it's the ‘mute’ feature that makes it work - 40 people can’t all talk at the same time. It is best to mute yourself even if not talking because of feedback and stray noise (and the host can also mute participants). If you’ve been recognized to speak don’t forget to unmute yourself!)

Hope to see you there!
