I never sailed a cat not to mention
trimaran but what I keep reading about them are appealing. I am a landlocked sailor, ~9 months a year sitting in the middle of
Europe where only lakes (some really nice ones!) are really accessible.
Therefore I am trying to find the ideal
boat, that is:
- trailerable (<2.55m transport width, <2.5-3tons)
-
seaworthy in case we want to move her e.g. from the mainland to the
Canaries (and back!)
- costs in the 30k€ ballpark
- accommodates 3 for a 3-4 days sailing.
What are your recommendations, how good are foldable trimarans? How do they handle rough seas compared to a similar sized deep-keel mono?
So far I found the
F-27 interesting, any other suggestions? Or shall I "go back to mono"?
