new Multihull forum

I noticed that the thread on the new Multihull forum is closed.
I was under the impression that we have freedom of speech and expression and I do not think that members should be kept from other forums , on the contrary, I think it will help keep new ideas coming in and get a more interesting forum conversation going in both these forums.
I for one will visit as many forums as possible as long as they are interesting and myself or others can learn from it.
It is a missed opportunity to close information on other forums out .
Just look around and see what the internet and info sites like google etc have done for us.
If I where to lead this forum I would make a special page of all other forum in the same field of interest and I see no harm in that as long as it is not commercially based go for it.
Why not start a poll on who is for and who is against putting a page up for other yachting/sailing forum maybe even in other languages

My 2 cents

Lets not!
Feel free to explore as many Web forums as you like. It is easy to find forums on the net with Google. We have no worries with anyone wanting to visit any other site. But we are not an advertising agency.
Hmmm, I wonder if that new Forum will have lists of other Forums?

Hallo Alan

I would be in favor of having a list of all forums that have to do with cruising/sailing on all these forums.
I will make a link on African Cats: comfortable lightweight performance leisure catamarans to both these and other interesting forums to increase the number of members and get an even better exchange of information

Greetings and have a good weekend

G'day,
Well done, Gideon. Do you mind if I copy it to the harryproa web page? With an acknowledgement, of course.

regards,

Rob

Good ideas guys,

I will post them on the local multihull society pages.

I would suggest to the owners/moderators here, who do a good job, that you re-evaluate what has happened/is happening, and once all the emotional stuff is dealt with, maybe try and accomodate some of the requests/suggestions.

Listening to your customers is an easy way to keep up with the market.

regards

Alan

I don't understand why you want a list. I just googled Multihull forum and it returned 62800 different articles. Noted that not all of these will be forums, but.... Now if we listed Multi Forums, then we need to be fair and list Mono's as well. And then if we list Mono's, we should list forums for every topic we have here. That is not something I nor any other Mod/Admin has time here for. Plus the lists would be huge and I just don't see the point. But hey, that's just me and if you think you need a second opinion, please feel free to ask Andy R via a PM, as he does not regularly spend time here. I will also copy this to our Mod room and discuss it.

Yep - well there is a link to this forum and there is a link to a multi forum based in another part of the world. I suspect more will be added as time goes on if they offer useful info to people (which this site certainly does).

Hallo Alan

I think it would only be fair to put up links of other cruisers forum if they do the same for you , That way you stimulate cross feeding and that can only help to make a forum a better platform .
this is what we do within African Cats , we place a link for a company which products we use but only if they do the same with us.
I will stay an enthusiast member of the Cruisers forum but will also be on other forums, the most interesting places will get my time and interest.
I am sure it works the same way for you.
I would like to promote to get links to for instance the Dutch Vertrekkers site
A site for cruisers that circumnavigate the world or the dutch CTC catamaran trimaran site , this can only help us all.

Greetings and a good weekend

This board is slow anyway with only 4-5 reply to a thread a day, if we cut that in half two things will happen by the audience it will be also be cut down so replies will also slow down and with only half as many people looking at the odds of usefulness replies will also decrees.

Leave it the way it is what are we looking at on the forum 10 or 15 topics a week, in no way is that over whelming. I see no reason to change it at all.
