We will be adding to the blog shortly. We will try and keep it as up to date as possible. I don't plan on going to far back in time with the blog, with regards to the passage
We made the passage
in 22 days from Barra de Navidad, Mexico
. We had good weather
except for the last 4 days. We had 20-25 knts on the beam with 10 ft wave at 5 seconds on the beam. We snapped a rudder
4 days out of Nuku Hiva. I built the rudders, so I had no one to blame but myself. I also felt better when I found out a brand new Lagoon 440
had also lost
in the same conditions.
The strongest wind
we had was a squall at the start of the ITCZ with about 50 kts of wind
. We did 7 knots with bare poles.
But here we sit in Fare Huahine...
Hope you enjoy the posts to come.
