You might change your mind if you are operating over near Singapore or another near equatorial location.

People have lived all over the world for thousands of years without air-con. You might want it, but you don't need it.

If the word doesn't work, please substitute "want." I would not begrudge somebody else using the word "need" if they lived aboard somewhere intolerably hot, or had a family member with a health issue who needs cooler/filtered air. I wouldn't be there if that's the case, but wouldn't dictate to others what to do.

Your body will usually adapt to whatever climate your in, though the time it takes to adapt may be pretty painful.

True. They've lived on land, where it's even hotter.

I am actually 99% against generator and AC units onboard but I think your statement is hard to justify as it depends on so many factors

How many people had aircon in their houses 100 years ago?. How many people had aircon in their cars 50 years ago?

Millions, no, BILLIONS of people live without aircon today.

People lived thousands of years without cars, without radio, without computer, without internet, without fiberglass. Nobody wants all that stuff, what guys you're taking about! Only silly people sail on fiberglass boats with radio, phones and internet on them! Some might be even more silly - they want fresh water makers and showers on boats! And these who most silly, have air condition on top of all that! What a joke! BILLLIONS of people live without water makers and internet! Boat must be made out of wood, no power, no air condition!

Actually, there's even more. Thousands of years people sailed on monohulls. Nobody NEEDS a catamaran!

Apart from some glaring inaccuracies, it looks like you're finally able to tell the difference between need and want.... or maybe not.

I just find it amazing that people really seem to think nobody could possibly have lived on a boat in a warm climate until aircon was invented.

Oh I know I can live without AC, I just choose not to. Last summer in Grenada we had ac on the Leopard 44 we were on, our buddy boat didn't. Each morning we heard the other crew tell us how they couldn't sleep due to being in sheets wet with swet or bugs or the music from the bars. We slept like babies each night and had a great trip!

Why would I choose to be miserable when I don't have too? People lived for thousands of years without refrigeration of food or modern medicine... I aint doing without those luxuries either. Lifes too short to make it harder than it needs to be.

Exactly !

Looks as if the temperatures and humidity in Singapore are pretty close to the Florida Keys, and there are plenty of live aboard's living in the Keys with no Ac.
I have nothing against someone running their generator and Ac at anchor, but if you do, please consider your neighbors as they may not want to listen to your noise or suck down your diesel fumes while they are enjoying paradise.
