Moved Back On Board !

My wife Linda and I have moved back aboard after four years on land, three years and 360 days too long. Previously living aboard S/V 'Wings' a Gemini 105 from 2007 to 2008, and S/V 'Island Spirit' an Island Packet 350 from 1999 to 2004.

We have purchased a 2000 Manta 42 named 'Side by Side' currently in Florida. We are retaining the name but changing the home port to Ely, Minnesota. We have a few items to attend to and then we will slip over to the Bahamas for the winter. Nice to be back, Rich

We sure know that we are not back in Minnesota. It took alot of energy to live in one place and dream of somewhere else. It just feels so great to have the movement under foot. Rich

Congrats Linda & Rich...you just can't get the salt out of the system. (I think I remember the boat from our 2009/10 trip...nice couple with kids, I think).

Linda and Rich,

Total congrats, you picked up a fantastic boat and I for one want to hear about how she sails. I already know, but I love hearing others comment on the Manta "Side by Side".

Re: Moved back on board!

Thanks, it is great to be back on the water w/ 70% of the world to play on.

We have been working alot on a vessel that has been for sale for awhile w/ systems that have, as one would expect, required repair or replacement from lack of use; new battery banks, new toilets, leaking watermaker and rotten seals everywhere. Dispite all of this we are happy as clams at high tide. Brokers never love a boat like owners and we are enjoying bringing this boat back to ready to go. The bones are solid, the hull, rigging and sails are in top shape, which matters the most for a sailing boat. We have been waking early and falling asleep as we have dinner, great stuff. Enjoy, rich
