Re: Monohull or Multihull Sailboat?
Gisle built this web site in Dec of 2002. I was just wondering if he was still cruising.

Interesting that the poll results are:
Mono - 35.66%
Multi - 64.34%
Looks like there's quite a few 'closet multihullers' on this forum. Come out, it's a safe place in the Multi forum

It's not that we're in a closet. It's that we can't afford to own one. I was searching for multihull when I first started on the CF. this is why I posted this cartoon 15 years ago.

By virtue of your original post and the one I'm quoting my comment doesn't apply to you. You're open about it and not in the closet at all.
Respect to you. If only more people shared your honesty.

I can't afford the ones I want!
I prefer a big modern mono to a smaller ( 40ft or less) cat BUT I'd prefer a bigger cat to a biggish mono. The day I can afford a modern 46ft cat or up, I'm there.

If your price estimates are correct that day could be closer than you think!
I certainly hope so, that would be pretty cool.

Re: Monohull or Multihull Sailboat?
I'm more of a shallow water sailor. My dream was to sail between the islands here (Philippine) where a deep draft is inconvenient. Lots of coral heads here. Mostly Bangka boats here. (canoe w/outriggers)
But I had a good time in the Salish Sea for several years. So, I've sold the boat and it's on its way to French Polynesia. It's on a layover in Hawaii until New Years.
