Mid 90's Prout 45?

Looking for a little first hand on how they sail, and what they are like to live on. The more I look at them, the more I like them. Definitely not your modern deck or saloon lay out, but they appear to be very roomy, seem to be well built. Bridge deck looks somewhat low, but windage looks good. I love the cutter rig, with all sail controls right at hand at the helm. Apparently you never need to leave the helm for any sail controls.

So if anyone has experience, or simply opinion, I want to hear it all!

I have a soft spot for this one: 1997 Prout Catamarans 45 Sail Boat For Sale - www.yachtworld.com

I'm also curious to hear more about them. I've heard bits and pieces every once in a while. I know I know I read one magazine article and they had good things to say about them.

Prout's are very well made, solid boats. The problem is their low bridge deck clearance, conservative riggings with backstays and their displacement on the heavy side.
You won't be fast in sailing, you will slam a bit but this is a boat that can take you anywhere safely.

Cheers

Looks like a well equipped boat. Even comes with food in the fridge!

Well equipped but overpriced for a 20 year old cat.

Me as well. I was a little worried you were talking about the Boanerges.

The price isn't terrible for the space and speed. Plus it's been on yachtworld for years. Someone finally picked up Ranger hull #1. Snow goose 37's are also on my radar as a solid family cruiser, despite solid bridgedeck/windward ability, so I'm looking forward to responses to Prout owners as well.
