Under the right circumstances, I would be tempted to buy her back if she was for sale.
Try contacting the marine emporium at Bethel island or Bethel Harbor marina as they know whats going on around the island. If you send an email with a pic they might even put it up on the noticeboard for you.
Tell a bit of a story to pique their interest.

What a great idea! Tomorrow the search continues.

Re: Lost my trimaran in San Francisco

I talked to Kirby at Napa Marine... no luck. I talked to Jane at Bethel Marine, no luck. Also talked to owner of Marine Emporium next to Sunset. He pointed me to the 38ft. Tristar three times, even though I said it was not the boat. I am beginning to believe that the boat has met its end. Very disappointing.

Oh thats bad luck. If you have a rollup inflatable with an outboard or a kayak it could be worth a drive & a tour around the island & talk to some of the river rats.
If Jamie from Bethel harbour doesn't know of it it may be a goner but it depends how busy she was as to how much effort she would put into asking around I guess.
Do you know the surname of the last owner? There is someone else I could try if she still lives on the island. I worked there around the turn of the century so a lotta water has passed under the bridge since then. There was a fair few, shall we say uncared for boats, scattered around the various sloughs around the time i stayed there.
You can PM me if you want to email me a picture of it.
Good luck otherwise

Re: Lost my trimaran in San Francisco

Patrick Contioso was the owner... now deceased. His son Ryan had lived on the boat where it was docked on Dutch Slough. Patrick lived on Taylor Rd. According to Ryan he and his Dad had a falling out three years before his death and didn't know the boat's fate for certain. I can send you a picture of how I last saw the boat and several of when I owned her. I'll have to figure out how to PM and send images from this forum tomorrow. Thx

I'll send you a PM with my email.
Yes I still have a contact on the island who may be able to help but no guarantees.

I was trying to help him but lost all his details trying to use my new smartfone so if he sends me the details again I'll try again to get help from on the island. Will take a couple of weeks as I wont be calling the USA, just email.

Owner Andrew worked on her for a year.

I was hoping you'd find her on the hard somewhere waiting for you to reclaim her.

Re: Lost my trimaran in San Francisco

Have you thought to use Google maps & maybe Mapquest? (Hopefully their images are different ie. years/seasons. You seem to know the locations. Google maps looks over fences and into back lots quite nicely. It may just give you a "Tourists" list of places to see/visit. Two years ago I found a boat I had been interested in after the listing closed by browsing Google Maps..

Re: Lost my trimaran in San Francisco

Yep... did Google Earth although the maps were not current.
I did see the Horstman 38ft tied up at Sunset Marina. I got a chance to talk to the newest owner.
