Looking for tips to get a 3-6 month mooring slip

Hi Folks, I'm new to this forum, I'm on the verge of purchasing a cat 44x24ft. I'm struggling to find a mooring slip with reasonable cost in SE Florida to keep the boat for 3-6 months.

I wonder if any of you have some tips they could share to help out.

thanks

Probably have better luck if you go north a bit. Try central and north Florida.

Congratulations and welcome to the forum Depledge. I’m not sure where you are in SE Florida, but here in Miami we will be seeing some movement north off of moorings. There are also a few anchorages around Miami and Miami Beach.

I dunno what's reasonable to you but Harbortown in Ft Pierce seems to always have plenty of room. My 35' month to month is $600.

Correct me if i am wrong, but i always thot that in N America a mooring was out in the water with a permanent anchor to the sea bed, but a slip was next to a dock with possibly a finger pier to one side.

In England i believe the usage of the words is different, cuz the book "Stress Free Sailing" talks about mooring lines to the dock cleat. i guess they mean dock lines.

Some marinas have a 40 ft limit.
