Re: La Vagabonde - I don't understand

Two channels which I didn’t see I this thread, and like better than SLV are the O’Kelly’s, and Sailing Florence.

Is it simply because they were one of the first?

And BTW how come I knew that they were getting a Rapido 18 mths ago? I thought it was common knowledge...

Can you please list some channels that have better videography? Videographer in training here. Thank you!

I agree with so many of the comments; GBU is great.

Check out Sailing Cadoha - a Uk based couple just getting going, production is pretty good, all done themselves.

Re: La Vagabonde - I don't understand

There are other channels to watch.

Our favorites are two YouTube channels: Sailing GBU (good, bad and ugly)
Sailing Florence

They are living my dream!!!!! I feel like I am there with them. They are real with their ups and downs. They don’t know us but we truly love them.

Check them out.

Re: La Vagabonde - I don't understand

Here's my two pennies as someone that has started the journey and is recording what we are doing.

First a lot of channels post for family and friends (we do) its good to show family what we are doing and to help them be part of it. We have loved ones that can't come to the boat but love to see what my wife, kids and I are doing. In some cases we have people that just want to watch the adventure and live vacariosuly through the channel.

There are lots of good channels and like ours some not so good (we are learning).

But there is also the story telling aspect. videography is part of it but so is story telling and relating to the audience.

It's also fun to create something that you can show someone. With us we are trying to show our kids YouTube isn't and instant success but you have to work at it like any other job. My wife and I are both Photographers (not videographers) but we are enjoying doing what we do.

But more importantly it blows my mind with some of the comments on here. At the end of the day who cares what the vagabonds, Kelly's , Zatara's or any youtube channel does. you have the option too unsubscribe, that little red button or not watch. If these channels make money doing what they love, why do you care so much. So what if they are influencers or have become stars, how is that hurting you personally ???

As with all entertainment (which is what YouTube really is) different people like different channels for different reasons. since moving onto the boat we have noticed we watch less videos on the lifestyle because we are in the middle of a refit and upgrades.

But I think the most important thing that they do do is inspire people to actually start sailing or to start some new adventure. These channels inspired my wife and I that, after 2 years we bought a 40 foot boat and are now living aboard it. We are taking our kids around the US to see this amazing country and then on to other countries.

You might want to check out Sailing Fair Isle. It's a bit more destination oriented, but I think they're nicely produced.

actual content? Meh...not so much.

If you want to look at the worst of the worst there is a channel we jokingly call
"Sailing Ms Porn Star" Sub the porn for lone and you'll get it.
Cringy subpar sailor provocatively poses and disrobes. I watched about 2 minutes of an episode, compete trash, and shes got a vinmeo link where you can pay and watch to see her prance around naked. 19mil + views on one of her utube videos.
Sailing Ruby Rose is decent, No BS just sailing is good, Delos kinda lost steam, I listen to 59 north podcast, its very good and no baloney.
Now that Delos has a kid on board, they have gotten a lot more conservative in their adventures. Don't blame them one bit. Though I do miss Brady and Blue.
People seemed to like La Vagabonde a lot more when Elayna did the occasional bikini videos (before having a kid, now has 2). She's very attractive and has a great screen presence which counts a lot for a visual medium.

I guess you haven't watched much Delos. They are constantly giving props to people who help them and/or donate stuff to them.

Re: La Vagabonde - I don't understand

I watched a few episodes a couple of years ago and found them shallow people likely funded by mummy & daddy, or if not, people in that silver spoon mould. Not my type of channel; I like Old Seadog, The O'Kelly's, Follow the Boat, Sailing Project Atticus, Patrick Laine etc - generally likeable people. Everyone has there own taste. I dropped Sailing Ruby Rose because they got too up themselves.

Anyone with money can buy a boat and cross an ocean, zero experience required it seems.
Most of the time they have an uneventful passage, certainly nothing that more money can't fix.

Never having watched a "Wynn's" video I won't comment on their ability
They started their channel as RVers crossing the country, then transitioned into Sailing, documenting their process. They are professional photographers who use their skills to help support themselves along with patreons like the other channels. They are nice, down to earth and, unfortunately, come accross as kind of boring.

I don't know which channel you are watching, but they show plenty of others. From Maine to FL they showed other people sailing with them (Calico Skies) and helping them in Annapolis and Boca Raton.

Freedom of speech? That's pricelessly incoherent and incorrect.

Large welfare state? Another piece of misinformation. I like my health care and it doesn't make me broke.

I lived in the US until 2016. I love it here. The people are friendly and don't go around shooting up their neighbors.

I think your post is offensive.
Canada does not have first amendment protections. You say something that is politically unpopular and considered insulting against a protected group, you can be prosecuted.
