Intercat 1500: anybody with knowledge

We are looking at potential purchase of an Intercat 1500 (28' LOA x 14.5' beam catamaran) built by Endeavour in Florida c. 1990 and wondering if there is any good info from sailors with experience on these boats. Our use will be for winter liveaboard cruising coastal Florida, Bahamas and likely south of there in the Caribbean. Any responses greatly appreciated. I have been a monohull sailor most of my 66 years (up to 35') with a short period owning a Hobie 14 Turbo catamaran being the exception. We are looking for easy cruising and comfy winter liveaboard in southern waters for two seniors, with occasional guests, not necessarily performance sailing but we like to move quickly and will fly a big downwind foresail if possible. Thanks for any info!

Re: Intercat 1500: anybody with knowledge

Never seen one, but looking at images it looks comfortable enough for inshore sailing. Solid foredeck not good for offshore but gives nice space Strange how the mast is so far forward with a very big mainsail. Opposite to the Prouts of similar age where the masts are set back. Not sure how it would sail but doesn't look very balanced but others may know better?

We owned a endeavour cat 30, almost the same boat, it was fun and perfect for what your describing. Make sure the berth is w9de enough.
