Re: High Tech sails

Standard text in RPYC Sailing Instructions:

1 Canoe Racing
1.1 Attention is drawn to the fact that canoe races may coincide with sailing events. Canoes race for cash prizes and the racing is taken very seriously. Canoe racing was introduced by and formed the basis for the formation of the original Club and is part of our proud history.
1.2 Canoes are not very manoeuvrable and cannot be relied upon to take avoiding action or to act in accordance with sailing rules. Please keep a lookout for canoes and take early and appropriate action to avoid a collision. In the event that an incident or “near miss” occurs, consider the good name of the Royal Papua Yacht Club and the need for harmony. Avoid arguments at all costs, render assistance if necessary, and refer any problems to the race committee.
1.3 Where boats act in accordance with these recommendations, and consider their position may have been effected by taking avoiding action or rendering assistance, redress may be considered. However, a boat failing to act in the spirit of these recommendations may be regarded as committing a gross breach of good manners or sportsmanship and may be subject to review under RRS Rule 69.

Re: High Tech sails

Looks like they sourced their sailcloth from the same supplier we did for our dinghy. Here's a shot of the 2 ply laminate in action, color coded for each tack.
