Hard top Bimini?

I'm thinking of replacing my uv damaged canvass Bimini with a lightweight polycarbonate panel design. This looks the the last summer for my ragtop.

Does anyone have experience with the "Hard to Top" system? It seem like an interesting alternative to a canvass Bimini for my 36' cat.

You can make your own Hardtop out of Azek.

Re: Hard top Bimini?

Seawind makes a hard top to replace the canvas covering which is similar to a Bimini for ther 1000 and 1000XL boats. While it is only a direct fit for Seawinds it will give some idea about how it is done. I know someone who put one on their Seawind and was happy with it. The more modern Seawinds have a hardtop instead of the canvas.

Re: Hard top Bimini?

I recently did the same made the panel out of double sided glassed poly panel (ie honey comb plastic sheet)
Rounded the edges with formed pvc water pipe and epoxy filler.
Being stiff I extended the sides approx 150 mm.
I can now walk to the back of the boom.
It holds my three unisolar panels.
I fitted to the same pattern Stst frame but added flat eye plates for thru bolts .
