Grainger 50

Could one of you knowledgeable people (44/Factor perhaps) tell me what sort of performance I would expect from a Grainger 50.

What sort of Grainger 50?
This one?
Am I right in thinking its a chincogan 40 with a big step extension?

How about TAJ, a Grainger 48 in la Paz. We’re here and it’s a very kewl looking boat.

If its that one it wasn't built by Chincogan, the ad says Vindaloo Yachts, and Chincogan did the 40 and a 52. the 52's sail reasonably well, not stellar but okay. Obviously quality of sails and the like will be critical on a boat that size. Call me any time Chris if you want more background. 750K seems a bit much for a 20 year old boat, depends on condition, sails etc

Re: Grainger 50

It was originally built by Vindaloo on what I suspect were 485 plans (same as Taj). In 2013 it was rebuilt completely - everything replaced and hulls extended and resprayed.

I have difficulty getting a handle on Graingers as they all seem to be different. Chincogans, Crowthers no problems.

I see Seawind 1600 got a good wrap at Grand Motte Andrew. I am leaning towards this boat as time passes. Need some interim solution however, and there is not a lot on offer.
