Gotta love those cheap smoke alarms

Just had a short in my 12v supply.... smoke alarm behind the panel alerted me. I was half-way to the Exumas, shut down the 12v, and turned around. Smallish fire, but fried my whole stbd loom from the panel to the house batteries. I'm going to put smoke alarms in every compartment that has wires!
