Re: French skipper Anne Caseneuve

That is really sad. I followed her victory on her class on the last Route du Rhum on an incredible boat made with several pieces of other boats, a scrapyard boat, that she and friends managed to make in a nice trimaran.

The best homage is to remember her victories particularly the last one on last year on a race that she made already ill. At the time I was impressed with her performance and I did not know that she was fighting cancer. Chapeau Anne, may you find nice winds wherever you are.

Thats why I had on my to-do list to contact her directly since summer as I wanted know more in details about the conception. I have my doubts, that its just scrapyard. In my understanding, they tried to puzzle out the best parts of different boats. A smart way to optimize, at low costs/budget.

Anne just became 50, one year younger than me . I had cancer with 25.... and I lost my 69 year old mother 3 years ago she fighted against cancer and didnt make it, too.

So I am really upset about myself that I didnt come into action and contact Anne in summer.

Anne didnt sail for money, never did it. Same spirit as we know it from "Flo" (Florence Arthaud). - Both were driven by love and passion for the sea.

Let us live the life now... as it can end too quickly !!

I remember of reading about that, scarpyard is a way to say: old race boats that were stopped and on the hard because they were no more competitive and nobody wanted them anymore.
