Free Frames for 60 Foot Catamaran

If you want to build a 50 to 60 foot catamaran you can have my framework, for free.

These frames, all CNC cut, have been used to build my two hulls. The frames are just flipped around and remounted on the bearers to make port and stb hulls.

The shape has been designed and optimised by a professor using Maxsurf and Rhino and peer reviewed by a well known naval architect.

The 35 frames all notch into longitudinal bearers at 500 mm centres (they are included too) so everything is very accurately controlled. Over these frames you bend and glue a plywood shell which is then laminated with lateral, longitudinal and double bias uniaxial glass and epoxy. When the shell is finished you turn the hull right side up and pull out the frames (which sometimes needs a hammer to snap epoxy spills so they are not in perfect condition) but they will do the job a few more times. When the frames are out I vacuum bag foam and epoxy laminate to the inside of the shell. Light and very strong.
