Looks like a mini Saona. Surprised they could keep so many of the new layout and design features from its 47' brother on so little waterline. I thought it was going to replace the Lucia, but it looks like both boats are staying in the lineup.

To me, it looks more like a mini-Helia. It will be a very successful boat.

Looks like they integrated some of the nice features of as well the Lucia, Hélia and Saona. I am sure it will be a real succes. Certainly because, apparently, it will be a way to avoid the long waiting lists for those other models.
I only hope that the final execution will be more like the Saona and Hélia, because for liveaboards the Lucia is a bit too light, IMHO. But if I see that the engines are standard 30, and 40hp in upgrade, I am not so sure yet. The Hélia is 40 to 50 in upgrade, and only a few feet smaller. While most owners agree that it is worth upgrading. Big difference I saw in the rigging between the Lucia and Helia. What will it be on this new42 ?
Absolutely worth to follow this up in the coming weeks.

The Hélia is 40 to 50hp in upgrade, and only a few feet 'larger', but wrote smaller...

To start with, Lucia is not in this league with 11,73 m vs new FP 42 12,58 m and L 42 12,85 m. FP weights 11,5 tons vs 12,1 tons for L 42.
FP 42 has 101 sqm upwind sails vs. 90 sqm for L42.


I have the price list for both of them. Very basic ones would be around K 415 for FP and K 385 € for Lagoon.As far as turkish dealers are concerned, Lagoon can deliver the first 42 in Jan 2019, FP in May 2019. Obviously, these lead times can be different in other countries and dealers.


I think this is the nice move for FP towards filling the gap between Lucia and Helia. The next one will probably be a 53-54 ft in between Saba and Ipanema.
