Farrier Command 10

Hi all, my name is Don and I live in SoCal trying to find out what harbor/ slips or end slips people keep their trimarans in the LA area? Mine is 26ft wide, 13.5ft folded, I prefer not to mess around folding / unfolding almas. Also need to find a decent transport co, almas need to come off and transported on a second trailer, all in it's 6500 pounds, est 3500 pounds main hull, oh yes I'm a newby. Thanks for any info!

It might help if you provide a few more details that are usually important marina considerations such as... Do you liveaboard? Do you need power/water? What type of price range are you looking at?

Re: Farrier Command 10

Long Beach, San Diego mooring fields, Ventura. Take whatever you can find, (sublet or etc) and get on some 5-10 year waiting lists, in my experience.

Good luck with the project. It's been on my watch list for years and glad to hear it's one step closer to making it to saltwater... Keep us posted on any repairs and your progress if you can! Photos if possible... very cool (and uncommon) design in a lot of people's eyes, hope it all comes together.

Hire a crane, get a dually pickup and an oversize load sign to hang on the back, and haul it yourself in 2 loads. Or hire a crane, get the amas and crossbeams loaded on a 2nd flatbed trailer, and try uship or generic freight companies and boat movers at that point. I believe most boat movers and structural movers/etc will see $$$ signs once you tell them the dimensions as she sits now.

I have no idea about the border status these days but depending on your plans, another option Marina San Carlos, Guyamas MX , they probably can accommodate dry storage & launching seasonally from your trailer..since you have the yard trailer already

Re: Farrier Command 10

I have owned a command ten, and I tried to buy yours but his wife didn't like me, funny I offered 35k.
The amas can easily be taken off, x on the trailer, the center hull is just a wide load sign.
I can help if you buy the trailer.

Re: Farrier Command 10

I keep my command 10 on an end tie at Ventura Isle marina. Ventura been there for over 20 years. Facebook.com/sailingwithjaymarine I built mine in new york and had it shipped to California. The boat yard back east demounted the floats and beams put them upside down on the truck then put the main hull on top. They were professional boat movers and had every conceivable brace bracket and support they needed. Still needed an escort for the cross country trip but it was all on one vehicle. The yard I use is very multihull friendly. I know this thread was posted a while ago but it might be helpfull. I'd like to hear from anothjer Command 10 owner.
Thanks, Rich Pearsall

Re: Farrier Command 10

Main hull alone is 13'6 folded width is 14'6" feet. Folded it just fits into a standard 15 foot travel lift. Boat yard took mine apart and loaded the floats upside down on the truck with the main hull on top. The movers had all the special brackets and bracing necessary. Shipped it from New York to Ventura California. I have a photo somewhere if you are uncertain about anything.
