Ex charter catamaran refit and interior redesign

Dear all.
Do you know about somebody who does excharter catamarans refit job, including interior redesign suitable for familie living on the catamaran and blue water cruising . Is there people here who made this for them own catamaran so can share the cost on the item they upgraded.

Don't know your location, but JustCatamarans in Dania Beach, Florida does this kind of work.

Might be helpful to offer some guidance as to how large the family is, are there associated friends, and how long are the extended stays?

Issues at hand: number of berths, fresh water consumption, off grid power, allowable budget.

We are starting a refit, and I shudder to think what it would cost to have someone else do the refit for us.

Might be cheaper to buy a cat with a usable layout. My guess is coat if charter cat and redesign will exceed cost of getting more expensive cat with usable layout.

Re: Ex charter catamaran refit and interior redesign

Because of the construction techniques used, I think that most modern charter cats do not lend themselves to significant changes to the layout once built. Of course anything is possible if you have enough money and time, but I suspect the choice of an ex-charter cat as a starting point does not indicate a surfeit of the former.
You an do limited things like changing the use of a WC/shower stall to say a wet locker or laundry or repurposing a cabin as a workshop, but moving even non structural bulkheads while retaining a decent appearance in keeping with the rest of the boat is difficult.
Perhaps it would help if you could give some idea of the changes you think you would need to make.

Merging 2 adjacent cabins into one, or transforming a 3rd or 4th head, yes
Upgrading electric system, yes.

No more!

Refitting does not add worth to a mass-produced industrial boat.

For a custom, traditional, significant boat... Yes, it may be worth a Personal choice
