How do you beach a cat with sail drives in that position?
Cheers

I *think* you are talking about this being done on a catamaran, but you haven't really stated it. However your reference to "engines" and daggerboards implies it is a cat.

So why in the world would you even need a bow thruster? Might help in some odd situations but hardly worth the trouble and maintenance.

If a keelboat, I sure wouldn't want that hole the bottom, unless you have a water tight bulkhead all around and going well above waterline

Re: Engines with sail drive position

OK

So why do you want a bow thruster? As long as both engines are working, a bow thruster could help some maneuvers, make the boat go directly sideways for example, but without it you can always somehow work the boat where you need to.

Back to your original question, I suppose you could mount the SDs each canted somewhat towards the other hull. Would make them less vulnerable to groundings, but less protected from debris when boards are down. I would still keep them towards the stern.
