Oh my word !
My worst nightmare.

Thanks for sharing.

I think I should execute my plan to cover everything in clear Rubber Flexx. Can't imagine painting a new item as a bike with it.

But I did a test, painting some on the stainless boat parts. It dries 100% transparent - the idea is to keep shrouds, turnbuckles and other SS parts from corroding.
(A major problem in areas such as Puerto Rico where sargasso sea-grass gasses turn your brass / SS parts with brass in, black and green components )

It is a roof weatherproofing product- hopefully it can withstand sun and handling damage.

But fighting nature, remains an uphill battle.

Bet after 2 1/2 pages of "expert" opinions here you're sad you asked... Sounds like many don't understand exactly what you're asking about.

We have 2 eMove Cruisers - get 30-50 miles on a charge - with a very simple easy 110v charger. They're a bit heavy - about 50 lbs. but fold up pretty well to store in a decent sized locker or even under a bed. Top speed is about 30 mph, they have air filled tires and a complete suspension for rougher terrain. In "low gear" they will climb right up the side of a steep hill.

Need to run to the grocery store 3 miles away? Throw a backpack on and be there in 10 mins. How about being on the last dock in Fajardo...zoom easily and safely to shore in 3 mins. Want to go visit the beach on the other side of a Bahama island? 15 mins and you're there...

As far as legality - in most US/European cities these things are everywhere already. On the islands...99.9% of the time nobody is around to care and if you really got pressed $20 goes a long way.

Go buy a couple and have fun!

Re: Electric Scooters on islands?

I see a lot of cruisers on scooters these days - they are all over the place! There are lots of places to take them where it's safe. There are a lot of places we certainly would not use them. I wouldn't use them in Saint Thomas (probably) but I would use them on Jost Van Dyke (having lived there for years).

We just bought two ourselves. We plan on using them in the USA and in the Bahamas.

Re: Electric Scooters on islands?

We have a mix of one wheels and scooters. They have been fantastic around the Bahamas, but we are wary of where and when to use them in terms of roads/traffic. If you're able to learn to ride a one wheel they are the ticket. Toss it in the bottom of the grocery cart or under your feet at the bar. No locks needed. Extra bonus is that they are small compared to a bike or scooter making storage and dink transport much easier.

Re: Electric Scooters on islands?

After 2 1/2 pages, some of these responses left me thinking... "Dude, who hurt you in the past? You need a hug."

Other responses have been pretty good and on point. Corrosion is one thing I hadn't really considered as most of these small scooters are aluminum and would easily fit inside. The clear flex-seal paint seems a pretty brilliant trick. The eMove specs seem really good, but at 50lbs each... The weight concerns me, as does going 30mph on a scooter. Think I'll buy a smaller/lighter one to start out on and if it works well, then spend the money on a better pair and gift the used one to someone.

Thanks for all the useful comments.

Just because the top speed is claimed to be 30 doesn’t mean you have to go that fast :-)
