Edel Helios 38

In our quest for a catamaran the edel Helios 38 may also fit the bill.

Anybody have experience with these?

Anybody got a test report for it?

We are looking at Athena 38 but the edel may be an option.

Real life experience please!

Terry

Re: Edel Helios 38

Hi Terry,

I was moored behind the Helios 38 "Honu" in Gibraltar for 10 weeks. Interesting looking boat, this one being one of two / three with galley down. The owners had bought her in Turkey and sailed her to Gibraltar double handed.

Two observations:
1) The forward deck surfaces are rounded not flat so moving around on deck is not so easy / takes getting used to.
2) I liked the engine water control sprout inboard of the hulls - see the second picture.

I was told this particular cat had seen 22kts in the hands of an Olymic sailor at the helm.

Roger

I berth in Gibraltar, been there a couple of years now although I work away so that may be why I missed it. I think they are quicker than the athenas however there is not many of the edels for sale!

Many thanks for the response

Terry
