Funny that it appears the only people concerned about downflooding in catamarans are those who don't own one and will never be on a storm in one. Which makes one wonder why they are so concerned.....

Yes agree nearly all Lagoons (even the bulkhead popping 450). A CE Ocean rating is much more to do with trade protectionism that any real safety issues.



The other points 1 through 4 stated by Russ333 are common sense items that ocean going multihull buyers should look for along with a whole gambit of features not common on cats aimed at the charter market.



Downflooding appears to be a phobia born out of ignorance of how multihulls sail put about by monohull sailors who have no multihull experience.

Yip, and 1-4 feature in almost all production cats. With the exception of maybe the one single sliding door, but then again as this tread has pointed out, a non issue.
