DIY boatyard that can haul out a 25' beam on the Gulf Coast?
We have been looking for almost a year for a boatyard that can haul out our 43' Voyage Norseman Cat with a 25' beam. The largest lift we have found so far is for a 22' beam. This is really getting insane. I have called all the way from Galveston, TX to Marathon, FL. Only 2 places have a lift big enough - Saunders Boatyard and they are so backed up it could be a year before we get in. The other place is Progressive Marine, but they don't allow DIY. So it would be almost $6K for haul out, replace the thruhulls and get the bottom painted. We could do that for a third of that cost. Uuggghh - I never thought this would be my issue - not being able to find a lift big enough for the beam.
Does anyone have any suggetions? I even tried boatyards for barges but since it's a fiberglass hull they don't want to touch it.

Pier 77 in Galveston and Catamaran Boatyard in Key Largo.
Diversified in Ft Myers Beach can also haul you, not sure about do it yourself though. Also Owl Creek Boatworks up the Caloosahatchee river, but you would have to drop your mast.

Have you called Rebel Boatworks or Bay Marine in Biloxi MS?

Neither Rebel or Bay Marine have a wide enough lift.

I can only speak to the Texas Gulf Coast. Pier 77 can haul up to 25' but not anything over. ( we are 25'4" and P77 was a no go.) Mile 533 Marine Ways in Aransas Pass, TX can haul that and much larger vessels. You would have to call and ask about the DIY, but I do think that they have daily yard rates if I recall correctly. There are also a couple of commercial yards with travel lifts that can haul a boat that wide but they are very expensive in my opinion. I know of one near Galveston that gets $3500 for a quick haul. Outside of that our only other option is hiring a crane to lift her out and that runs about $3K per trip. So if you have a couple days of work to do, it's around $6K.

Diversified will not let you do you own work. Good folks but very pricey

A friend has a 52'x23' power cat that he has hauled at viking boatworks in St Pete FL. No idea if they permit DIY.

Re: DIY boatyard that can haul out a 25' beam on the Gulf Coast?
Gulf Marine Ways and Service have a 150 ton travel lift. Not sure if they allow DIY, but they might. Located in Ft. Myers, FL. You do have to clear a bridge that has a 65' vertical clearance. Based on the pictures, they seem to haul out some big boats, though I do not know the beam. They hauled out my boat and did some work for me and they were good. They did not seem as pricey as Diversified Yacht just down the road. Hope that helps. Rich

Not sure about 25' but I have seen large boats getting what I thought was DIY servicing at Fisherman's Boatyard in Freeport, FL. 850-835-4848
You would have to get under a couple of 65' bridges to get there.

If Bob and Ann's in pine island east of Sanibel is still in business they have a rail and specialize in multihulls.

They got rid of the rail and only have a small travel lift.

Belle Hatchee Marina in LaBelle, Fl. has a 25' cat already in their yard. You can stay on your boat while working on it also. I talked to owners LS and Kay this morning. Their phone # is 817-8222612. You would have to take your mast down however. Good luck!

Lauderdale Marine Center in Fort Lauderdale. A bit far afield for you, but they can lift about anything... and are fine with DIY.
