I'll be having this as a minimum with a 15 on the back.

My back step's are nearly 3 metres long so will easily support the weight and it will be lifted to about 1 metre higher than the underwing on an elevator like contraption yet to be built, but I have seen ugly versions of like in the pic's.

Dave.

One thing to remember is that you will have to carry more fuel for the 2 strokes and that reduces some of the advantage of their lighter weight. I have a 15 hp 2 stroke on the back of the tri, all other things being equal it uses twice as much as 10 hp 4 stroke would so I have to carry twice as much fuel at nearly 1kg per litre. It becomes an issue on longer coastal trips.

Muskoka,

Yeah, same thought with us regariding engines. Yamaha enduro is a beautiful outboard which is one of the very few you can find parts for abroad. We'll probably end up with that, keep the dingy on the arch hoisted way up and the engine stored forward in passages. FastCat435, you have my lust boat. I personally would be really interested in finding out what your observations are for performance and quality of build, water tight compartments, etc. Mind sharing?
