Demountable Catamarans

For those who need a 45' cat in a 30' cat, try a Seawind 950 sailing cat. $225,000 new or about $150,00 used. Fits in two 40' sea train container. About $10,000 from Australia to the west coast of the U.S. For shipping. Two days to put it together with a fork lift and a friend. Also Richard Woods' Skoota power cat line cats are a good way to go with his 28', new 30', and new 32', each fitting on a 40-45' flatbed truck or special built trailer.. Also, Mike Waller's 35 Coral Sea is a larger sailing cat and demountable. After two moves, you will have this life style out of your system. Lol.

In the U.S. with a Commercial Drivers's License, a 14' wide beam load is permissible with front and back "Wide Load" signs on each end of the load. You will need a Wide Load Permit for each state you pass through. Permits for Idaho, Montana and Washington use to be good for all three states. Commercial haulers get about $1.75 to $2.00 a mile for loads under 14' wide. Over 14' requires one or two pilot cars depending on width, height, and weight. Fourteen foot beam is why Gemini's are popular in the U.S. They can be hauled with not much paperwork or too much cost.

I'm with paxfish, seems like it's barely above the level of a junk post.

Re: Demountable Catamarans

I had a thread all about demountable cats, he may have been trying to post a response to my thread and accidentally started a new thread.
