I'm usually on the other end of the binoculars. Once something I invested time and money in is obviously not going to see completion I want it out of my life. Here, take it, get it out of my yard, off my work bench, out of the garage. If i charge anything at all it's usually way below it's value. Lost a few dollars like that over the years but gained so much freedom it was well worth the expense.

Possessions are like anchors. Unless they're being regularly used all they do is keep you tied to one spot.

Re: Delusion in the older Multi-Hull Market

The delusion continues to this day....

Broker listed 15yr old 40ft Leopard that was a mess - didn't bother to clean the boat or even try to address the poop smell permeating the thing - for the 'bargain' price of $299.

Oh yes, and we were just one of 5 groups scheduled to view the boat yesterday.

deep sigh....

Re: Delusion in the older Multi-Hull Market

The delusion continues throughout the market, not just in multi hulls.

This is going to change, there is no way it can continue. All of these new COVID boaters are going to figure out it is not as easy as it looks on YouTube. Add the fact that it cost money and time (or just a bunch of money) to keep a boat in order only adds fuel to the fire.

Give it a few years and our ADD Facebook society is going to turn on boating resulting in a flood of boats on the market.

Maybe for mononhulls!?
So far multihulls have always been absorbed faster than they come to the market. It has been a sellers market for years, but right now this is extreme.

Even if it starts to ease a bit it won't become a buyers market anytime soon.

only if you don't want to trade up or down, as you will have a hard time to get any other multihull.

I fixed that for you.

True to some extend.
Some (many?) cats don't even get listed as they are sold to people on the broker's buyer list.
money alone can't buy you these boats.

Agreed. But it will cool eventually. Eventually we will get to market saturation.

Don't get me wrong I would love to get a multi. Just not in the cards for me as you can get considerably more for considerably less in a mono.

And there’s a reason for that.

I just went to the Popyachts web site for the first time. Maybe its me but that site is annoying. Maybe its the interface or the colors but I could not look at it very long.

I've read many bad reviews about them from buyers and sellers.
