If someone asked you for no more than 10 MUST have features on a sailing catamaran.. what would be on your list?

Re: Curiously for fun

A good anchor that works every time,
A good dinghy to get off the boat any where, Go ashore,
Efficient Fridge and Freezer for the long trips off shore,
A good set of Binoculars to see the Pilings, and the colours of them,
Plenty of coffee, Never run out of coffee, Hahahaha

A good covering Fly to keep the heat and cold off the boat, It certainly makes a difference to inside the boat in 30 C plus and Zero C cold,
In the cold weather it keeps the condensation out off the boat,
Yes I can see out quite clearly under the cover as it goes over my Boom,
My jack line runs along the top of the boom above the main sail,
My boom is tied off so it cant move,

Cheers, Brian,

Light yet strong construction materials (e.g foam core hulls)
Efficient hull form
Powerful sail plan
Good bridgedeck clearance
Daggerboards
Kick-up rudders
Well-centered storage of heavy items (water, chain, batteries, etc)
Single-hand sail handling gear (e.g. ST winches, headsail furling)

Nope, that's all the "must haves". Anything else is non-essential

Re: Curiously for fun

  1. Visibility.
  2. Aft helm (not forward of salon).
  3. Sugar scoops with boarding platform.
  4. King berth. Much cooler than a queen when it's hot. More of a "would really like" since no one seems to offer it.
  5. One head.
  6. Bridgedeck clearance.
  7. Simple rudder disconnect (in case one is disabled).
  8. Heat.
  9. AC.
  10. Good engine access.
And the features that good boats and cruising cats always have.
