Cruising Texas Coast
I’ve been a long time cruiser (sail and power) on East Coast. Now, I live in Dallas and am thinking about getting a downeast boat and cruising along Gulf Coast, especially Texas coast. Any thoughts?

Sounds like a great idea. We have a boat near Galveston Bay which has some decent sailing water. Easy to go south down the coast towards Freeport and Corpus.

Been reading that coast is mostly commercial. Not many attractive harbors and marinas for pleasure boats. You’re experience?

Check out Kemah, Texas. I live in Dallas and so do some of my dock neighbors. Easy access to Galveson Bay and the coast.
