You could get a new A frame fabricated using spreader section.
I don't think it would be a good idea to incorporate a bowsprit into it. If say, your spinnaker halyard
let go in a solid breeze, you would run over the spinnaker
, which would exert a massive load on the bowsprit, and could bring down your rig, if the sprit were strongly connected to the A frame.
My bowsprit is basically a short spinnaker pole, with spinnaker pole ends at each end. It clips onto a stainless ring on the front of the forebeam. When not in use, it's held up be the spinnaker halyard
, when in use VB cord from the A frame holds it up (as well as the spinnaker).
If the spinnaker halyard failed, the VB cord would break, protecting the A frame. There's a second, longer VB cord to the beak release, so when the first VB cord snaps, the second one should release the kite.
