cockpit reefing - multihull specific

If you don't have it already you may want to consider clutches for the leech reefing lines on the boom rather than in the cockpit as this takes a lot of compression loads out of the boom and the rest of the system and is much kinder on the ropes rather than having loaded ropes at the hinged end of the boom.

I have cockpit reefing on my boat, the leech reefing lines run to the cockpit for winching but the clutches are on the end of the boom where you can reach them from the cockpit seat.

My Searunner 40 has the mast in the center cockpit. The new Selden mast and boom uses lots of clutches, and the three reefs are accessible at the gooseneck above the helm.
