It depends on the substance of the
boat. With my perspective onto the world of Trimarans I see very often "
old boats".
I may remember here the legendary cruising
Trimaran Adagio, built
1969/1970... some
photos and vids here.
A Farrier Command 10 Metre, the cruising
Trimaran Aussie was built in 1986 and is making his owners (Jim and his wife) very happy who live on this
boat.
Even "old
racing trimarans" receive a revitalization... normally one would not expect. E.g. legendary
Trimaran Geronimo (built in 2001) the Sodebo Team bought in 2013 to compete the
Route de Rhum in 2014...
... or take the
smily face Trimaran "Happy" which was sailed shortly by famous French
skipper Loick Peyron he owns this boat privately. Its a very old one (more than 35 years) but beautiful refitted little
Trimaran one can
cruise around and have a pleasure-leasure time.
... its the sister boat of Mike Birch's legendary
Tri Olympus Photo he won the first
Route de Rhum with in
1978 and designed by
Walter Greene.
Olympus "killing" much bigger monohulls during 1st
Route de Rhum...
Last I like to name a historical boat of the 70th, its a
Hydrofoil Joubert Trimaran of 13 metres length, built 1979. As I am informed it is owned by a doctor
med. in Beligum, a very powerful boat with rotation
mast going easily >20 knots. Some snaps. :-)
