An interesting project which is currently dismantled but might be ready to go without too much effort. I had this model and these boats are fast. It is in Pouslbo which is about 20 mile by water from Seattle.

F*ck a duck, that thing is moving!! While the Neel’s don’t really appeal to me, I am coming around to a fast tri.

I had mine doing 15.5 knots but it was in a tight bay. If I had more room I think I could've done 20+!!!!

Those Buccaneers are still great looking tri's all these years later. It would be reeeeally tight down below for a couple to cruise long distance on your 34'er and the one for sale though, right?

It’d be tight, but doable. My first boat was an Oday 34 and as a couple, we were super comfy on it. Plenty of couples cruise in Moody 30/31’s as well...

Niiiice! I remember seeing some sort of 30ft tri caning it in Great Exuma with a rooster tail coming off the back... they basically used it as a weekend getaway for quick trips to other islands😁

I'd love a tri, but other than the Neels, they are all too small, dark, or dingy, or old designs for me to consider a liveaboard. The irony of it is, I own a 1977, Prout. haha.

It is small for long distance but that depends on your comfort level. Mine had the table that was also a berth extension to convert to a double berth. It had no head (like this one) but there is a lot of room in the forepeak. I put a high end electric portapotty up there but you could do a full bathroom because there are holding tanks. One thing I did like were no below the waterline thru hulls so just one less thing to worry about. There is lots of storage in the amas and on deck. Mine also had fixed wood/epoxy beams, the Bucs were built both ways. It would be a good boat for the Sound, San Juans, Inland Passage, Alaska. I sold mine for quite a bit more than this one.

The most fun there is! But 17 knots with our low freeboard was more than the Admiral bargained for which is why we sold our C36 (well, some age related stuff as well!) and are looking for our cruising cat.

I will miss the rush, but don’t mind slowing down and focusing on the two of us enjoying life.

Brown's Searunners are highly regarded for long term liveaboard and passage making. There is a whole thread on here devoted to them. His 31 with wing decks, Scrimshaw, he and his wife lived on for years.
