48' cat
Here's a Nautitech 475 in Portland OR for $125K. It needs to be put back together. I'm not sure if it's cheap but it definitely is a project. They are worth around $250K or more when intact.

Whew, interior needs a little TLC. Nice lines IMHO. Anyone know of these cats?

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects
DX, which one.
Senor, I clicked on the link in the Nautitech ad. He bought the boat in Hawaii and sailed it back to Pacific NW. The boat had some water egress around the hardware and one thing led to another so he stripped the boat so he could vacuum bag it and repair the issues. It seems like he really did a thorough job. I think most of the complete boat pics are his before the process.

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects
I wouldn't normally post something like this, but I think it is too good not too share and I am still several year from buying something for the great loop.

Missed the price the first time, $9000. I know, if it seems too good to be true, ...

This was checked out by a knowledgeable multihull builder as is reported to be very well built. The cost of the boat is just to cover moving costs to navigable waters. It would be a shame to see this one scrapped as the deceased owner put 25 years into building it. Would make an awesome cruising boat. The designer, Aussie Roger Simpson, is well thought of down under. Great opportunity for someone.

Saw this listing and called with some questions. One question: Are the plans available/included? was answered: "...not much in the way of plans." Though I am not familiar with the range of R. Simpson designs, I have looked at some in the flesh and some in listings. Never saw this style. There has long been a similar size tri listed in YW for USD89k. So, I was think some custom modification was undertaken. In any case, without plans, one cannot know whether the designers scantlings were used. Perhaps this has damped enthusiasm in the marketplace?

This boat was checked out by Walter Greene of Greene Marine fame and it was his opinion that the boat was well constructed. Walter Greene knows trimarans! This project is probably best suited to someone with the time and skills to tackle the job. Labour costs for a professional yard to do it would not be cheap. The family is giving it a year to sell and then .... The $ they are asking for the boat is to cover the costs to move it off the property and truck it to navigable waters.
