That yacht was supposedly refurbished in 2012. I don't think he has even raised a cleaning cloth to wipe a bench since then.

For the money there's a Tri listed for sale in the classifieds that I would much rather have.

Can't see one at that price. If you're referring to Hot Sauce (the Trevor Banks design) it's USD65k which is a long way north of AUD48k.

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects
A friend of mine has one I've sailed on. Trevor took the main hull molds of a Cross 39, or 36? R and stretched them out to the banks length. The one I was on had hull steps like a Lex Nicol tri for more room. It sails well, I think there might be 4 of them out there. Check the wood cap strips on the beams etc.... The one I saw was made using polyester resin.

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects
In my experience, any "cruising" boat (with its multitude of systems) being used will have several on-going maintenance issues. Now a boat for sale which was loved by its owner but hasn't been used for some time, will have more issues.

Well yes, if you ignore the cost of getting it here, plus import duty and GST. More like AUD70k landed in Australia.
It's a very good deal regardless. Unfortunately I have an offer in on a 40' Aussie registered cat in the Philippines right now so can't make an offer on this one.

Re: Cheap Multis and Projects
We looked at the Simpson about 3 years ago. Not a factory finish but may be well built.
